producer. Previously, she served as a Field Producer for The Wanted, an NBC series which examined issues pertaining to the genocide in Rwanda. Prior to NBC, Ellen was a Co-Producer on a documentary film, Tapped, which highlighted the global water crisis and problems associated with bottled water. Ellen was also an Executive Producer for Blue Field Entertainment and produced 11 documentaries for The History Channel including the critically acclaimed Return of the Pirates, Child Warriors, Soldiers for Hire and the 8-part series Come Home Alive. These shows included hunting pirates in the Malacca Strait, touring illegal diamond mines in Sierra Leone, flying on a Royal Air Force C-130 transport aircraft into Baghdad and patrolling aboard law enforcement vessels with the Malaysian Marine Police. She also served as a Field Producer for the Robert Young Pelton's The World's Most Dangerous Places for Discovery Channel, which included working in Afghanistan during the war in 2001 and travel throughout Peru.
Prior to her career in film and television production, Mai also served as an intern in the Advance Office of The White House, and worked directly for President Ronald Reagan in his Los Angeles office. Since her first overseas trip as an exchange student, Ellen has visited over 70 countries and has lived in Denmark, Spain, Panama and Japan. Ellen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA), a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma (Norman, OK), a Masters degree in International Relations degree from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) and earned an ABD toward her Ph.D. in International Relations, also from ODU. Ellen resides in Southern California with her husband, two children and 30+ animals.
