George Simm is an Honorary Board Member of Developing Opportunity and provides invaluable insight to our

charity due to his vast experience with international business. Since his distinguished 30-year career with the British government ended in 1999, George has been involved in commercial security operations worldwide. The scope of these operations include considerable time spent working for the United Nations World Food Programme; auditing their operations across the South and Southeast Asia, and planning the evacuation of India for the completed UN operation during the Indo-Pakistan crisis of 2002. George has been involved in establishing civil aid, fishery protection projects in Somalia, power regeneration projects in Iraq, and facilitating support to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in Afghanistan. Currently George is based out of Dubai as the country representative and senior strategic advisor for the USA (Albuquerque, NM) based Detector Networks International that supplies advanced radiological detection systems to the Government of the USA.
