"...One Goal at a Time!"

That is how Scotty Bundy and his 8-year-old Tournament Soccer Team decided to make a difference!  This past weekend, scoring goals took on a whole new meaning -- because their ultimate goal is giving the children of Afghanistan "A Safe Place to Play".

85 people are killed or maimed each day in landmines in Afghanistan. And unfortunately, these landmines are a place where children often wander to play. . . The Hawk's goal of $4,000 would allow a safe playground to be built at the Olti Kwaja school (founded by a friend of Scotty's mom -- Ellen Mai at www.DevelopingOpportunity.org). The boys collected sponsors for their soccer tournament. The sponsors pledged either an amount per goal scored by the team or flat donations. The team played 6 games and scored 33 goals. The money is still coming in, but the boys have already made more than $ 3,000 -- just "One Goal at a Time"! Go Hawks!!!
